Taga Tazazu was born in Ethiopia in 1964 and emigrated to Israel in 1990 with Operation Solomon.
Taga is a very modest person, who doesn’t talk much. His words are few but profound; he says “I paint with my heart.”
Taga started to create art through classes offered by AKIM in an artist village. His creations are dynamic and full of color.
Taga works according to his inner rhythm – sometimes his whole body moves and dances while working. Taga’s art affects his mood and vice versa.
Taga has made his community proud, and through his art he has become proud of himself.
Art Classes
AKIM provides opportunities for people who have an intellectual disability and have artistic gifts to express their talents. This project is managed by five artists who operate classes in the artist villages of Safed and Ein Hod. Theses creative workshops give adults an opportunity to express their talent and feelings through a variety of artistic media. Their works are occasionally exhibited in artist villages.
